Websites are made up of 3 main elements:

1. A domain name such as Lewcy.com
2. Domain Name Servers (also known as "DNS Servers" or "Nameservers") each domain has two of these eg. ns1.servername.com and ns2.servername.com
3. A web hosting account (a powerful server computer where your website is stored)

When someone enters your domain in a browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox etc) the domain is looked up in a big database and points to two Domain Name Servers. These Domain Name Server details in turn point to the computer where your website is stored.

Quick Start Steps:

1. Find a domain you like and register it via our domain registration page.
2. Sign up for one of our UK hosting packages.
3. Use your login information to log onto your control panel and create some e-mail accounts. On setup you will be given details on how to set these up on your computer.
4. Once your site is uploaded to our servers via ftp you should be able to view your site at your domain name chosen in step one.

Note: It will take 12-48 hours for your website to propagate throughout the world. In the mean time you can view your site by using the ip address of your server (see your activation e-mail for your server ip) and your username: Http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx/~yourusername/ where xx.xxx.xx.xxx is replaced with the ip of your server. Dont forget the last / .

Once your domain has propagated you can use your domain name to access your website.

How do i access FTP?
Server: ftp.your_domain.com
Username: Your account username provided in your activation e-mail.
Password: Your password.

Files should be placed inside the "public_html" folder to be viewed on the internet.
